About
Fast Track is a joint partnership between Wallace State and Cullman County Schools. Fast Track consists of 3 academies (Fast Track Academy, Fast Track for Industry, and Fine & Performing Arts) that offer high school juniors and seniors an opportunity to simultaneously enroll in secondary and postsecondary coursework on the campus of Wallace State. The courses meet state requirements for high school graduation, while also providing the general education requirements for certificate and associate degree programs. Students take all of their classes on the campus of Wallace State and are taught by both Cullman County and Wallace State instructors. Students remain enrolled full time at their high school and may still participate in their high school extracurricular activities including athletics, band, and student organizations. Applications are accepted each spring for students wishing to enroll in the fall.
Fast Track Academy is for students planning to transfer to a four-year university. Students are responsible for the tuition costs. The GPA requirement for admission is 3.0
Fast Track for Industry is for students planning to enter a high-demand program. Tuition, fees, and books for up to 6 credit hours are paid for through the Career Tech Dual Enrollment Scholarship. The FTI facility is staffed by Cullman County instructors who work with the students to complete their high school coursework on a flexible schedule. The GPA requirement for admission is 2.5.
Fine & Performing Arts Academy offers students the opportunity to take courses in art, dance, music, theater, and visual communications. Scholarships and funds from CCBOE cover 2/3 of the tuition costs up to 12 hours. Students are responsible for the remaining 1/3 of the tuition and the cost associated with books, materials, and supplies.
